What now?

Osama bin Laden has just been killed by U.S. special forces. We rejoice. We remember. Life goes on.
This feels so momentous. It feels as if we should do something. Many will celebrate. Celebrate what? Hatred?
But will life change? Rather, will we notice the change? I suppose it doesn't matter; for if our lives have been made better over an alternate that we shall never know about, they are still better, through and through.
And what can we possibly do but go on living? We are but mere specks, tiny ants in a huge world. The nation, the people, are holding their breath. They are fearless. They are scared. They are looking for a leader. Someone who is confident. Someone with a sense of purpose, a "fearless" man. People will get what they want. Obama's speech was what we could've expected, but that doesn't mean it wasn't moving.
They say ignorance is bliss. Are they right? I can't say for sure. But I could see how that could be so. Time will tell what we'll do. Until then, we have no choice but to follow blindly, our leader who knows as much as we do, but doesn't let it show (which, again, isn't bad). It makes us feel confident, makes us feel safe, and comforts us.

Edit 9:59 PM 5/2/11: Yesterday, the day that Osama bin Laden was killed, was Holocaust Rememberance Day. Just an interesting tidbit, and something to think about.
